You may have seen last year’s list of New Years Beer Resolutions (if you haven’t, check it out here), but this year, we wanted to grow it. 2015 was a huge year in terms of beer – the US surpassed 4,000 breweries, and we got to try plenty of delicious Bourbon County Stout. 2016 is only going to get bigger, better, and filled with more beer than ever before.
Here’s a list of ten New Years resolutions you might actually be able to keep. Have you already set your own beer resolutions? Share them with us in the comments, or tweet at us @collegecitybev.

1. Try A New Brewery – With the growth in craft beer popularity, we have a LOT of new beers to look forward to every year. Make it one of your BEEResolutions to try as many new brews as possible. Collect the bottle caps as a reminder of how many new beers you’ve tried. Cheers.

2. Drink Local – Support your local breweries and brew pubs by drinking local. Have your friends try your favorite local beer. Spread the love.

3. Visit a Brewery – Make it one of your BEEResolutions to see how your favorite, local beer is crafted by visiting a brewery! Take a tour to see how all the magic happens. Also, breweries sometimes have special brews that are taproom only. So, sit back and relax at the end of your tour.

4. Throw a Craft Beer Party – Host a craft beer party at your place and have people bring their favorite beer. It’s the perfect way to share your favorite craft brews with others and to discover new beers.

5. Start a Craft Beer Club – Start a craft beer club with your friends. Meet at your favorite local pub or your home. Plan brewery visits with club members. Meet up with other craft beer clubs or enthusiasts in your area. The possibilities are endless.

6. Help Prevent Drunk Driving – Make it one of your BEEResolutions to consume responsibly this year (well, and every year). Don’t forget to plan ahead if you decide to go out. Designate a driver or put a cab number in your phone. Make sure your friends get home safely by offering them a sober ride or calling a cab. After all, what are friends for?

7. Try A New Beer Style – Barrel aged beer? Sours? There’s far more to sip than your traditional Amber, and you should never limit your beer horizons.

8. Fill In A Cap Map – Show off just how much of a connoisseur you are by filling in an entire cap map! Try beer from a host of different breweries, saving a cap from each bottle.

9. Buy A Beer For A Stranger – The best act of random kindness there is. Beer is our gathering place, it’s our social hour, and it is something we can all connect over. Buy a beer for someone, and make a new friend.

10. Cook With More Beer – It’s amazing how many recipes you can sneak a beer into and greatly improve the flavor. For recipe inspiration, check out The Beeroness.
