Meet the Team – Bryan Wrolstad
Bryan Wrolstad is on of our King’s of the Quarter for 2018! He is a behind the scenes guy that makes a hug impact at CCB. He has a great attitude and is always positive. He is willing to help and goes above and beyond to fix an issue for the next day or learn and research to stay relevant on industry technology and standards. We tracked down Bryan hard at work in the shop to learn more about him, and he did so with adding a touch of touch of humor to the conversation.
Tell us about your position and how long you’ve been with CCB:
Bryan has worked for CCB for 3 years as a mechanic. Growing up in the Northfield/Dennison area, he heard only good things about College City Beverage. After attending Dakota County Technical College for Mechanics, he heard about an opportunity form his current boss, Mike, whom he’d known for awhile. It was a great way to get started with a great company!
A typical day looks like:
Bryan’s days usually start at about 6:30 AM with coffee (a necessity). Right away they tackle any issues or the weird things that could pop up. He likes to plan his days the day before of what truck he is going to work on, what preventative service or maintenance he needs to preform that day. If there is something he could do that day that will make the job tomorrow easier, he does what it takes to get the job done. Bigger jobs they will tend to tackle during the winter months when it is less hectic. Bryan primarily works on semis and trailers.
What do you find most rewarding?
“I like fixing things. Taking something that doesn’t work right and seeing the end result of it working well. Diagnosing what the issue might be – there are days that you are stumped, and days that are gravy days.”
What do you find challenging?
“Trying to keep the shop clean. There is grease falling off and oil leaks. Everything is done in steps and we are always learning. So we always try to keep it clean while we learn and work. We are just a team of two so we are always busy.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
In his free time, Bryan is either racing his late model car at Elko Speedway, or working on it. “Everyday in the summer goes to getting the car set up, there is a lot to it, more than anyone would think. Everything has to be perfect, every angle, suspension, piece, right on the money.” His car goes about 95 MPH on the back stretches! He also recently adopted a Siberian Husky, Elsa, who had to be rehomed so he took her in.
What is your favorite product CCB distributes?
“Busch Light – busch latte’s or blue yummies!”
What is your favorite food?
“Tacos.” (there was no hesitation!)
