Meet The People Who Get You AND Your Car Home Safe – DDi

Posted by linelogic

Before Brian Peters even turned 21, he noticed a growing need for a sober ride service. Friends and family members were receiving DUIs at an astonishing rate, and Peters wanted to do something about it.
DDi-full-logoStep one: determine the root of the problem. Peters learned from a family member–who had just been convicted of his third DUI–that folks often drink and drive because they know they’ll need their cars in the morning. To them, the terrible logistics make it worth the risk of drinking and driving.
This was a problem Peters could solve. Thus, DDi was born. DDi, or Drink and Drive Intelligently, is a sober ride service that transports not just you home safely, but your car as well.

Over A Decade Of Growth

DDi launched on August 1st, 2005–the same date the legal BAC limit dropped from .10 to .08. This was Peters’ opportunity to step in and offer a new tool for people to consume responsibly.
In those first weeks, Peters was operating DDi in the White Bear Lake area. He was running 4 drivers and completing about 20 rides per week. Now, DDi has expanded beyond the 494/694 loop, and they service nearly 200 riders each week.
Peters attributes much of that growth to Anheuser-Busch and its Minnesota wholesalers. The brewery now sponsors DDi through initiatives such as printed signage inside accounts and ride certificates.

Why DDi?

DDi_Tagline_red copyCheaper than the cost of a round-trip cab (and with no surging like Uber), DDi is an easy option for riders every week. It’s cost effective, and your car gets home with you, which means one less headache in the morning.
Peters adds, “We have a high standard for our staff. They’re always reliable, and you don’t have to deal with any of the regular problems of taking a cab. If someone is driving your car home, you want to be able to trust them.”
If you’re looking for a trustworthy driver to get your car home from happy hour, a concert, or a night on the town, give DDi a call! You can even make ride reservations ahead of time to take the weight of planning off your shoulders.
