Most people appreciate the fun value of social drinking. Whether it’s a grill-out at home or a favorite bar where you meet up with friends, drinking a beer with friends can really hit the spot. For special occasions, though, you need a little something extra. Planning a pub crawl with your friends is a great idea for birthdays, reunions, bachelor/bachelorette parties, or a summer celebration. Here are a few tips to help you get started.

  1. Pick an area. You’ll want to find somewhere that has plenty of fun bars, good transportation and parking, and a close ride back home.
  2. Find your bars. There are some great websites, like BarFinder, that you can use to track down the best places to visit.
  3. Get your transportation figured out before you start drinking. Designate your driver, plan a cab, get quarters for the bus; do what you need to do! Uber and Lyft are newer services that can be pretty handy for carting people around, and they have apps!
  4. Pace yourself. We all love a good drink, but you have to keep your last drink in mind at the first bar. Know your limits, and enjoy your drinks within them!
  5. Photograph the night. Use a group hashtag or have all your friends upload pictures into a shared folder (Google Drive and Flickr are great options)
