Plan the Perfect Beer Picnic

Weather around here is finally taking a turn for the warmer, which means that we now get to drink our beer outside. This opens the door to porches, patios, baseball diamonds, and back yards. It’s scientifically proven (basically) that beer is inherently compatible with both food and with sunshine. So, here’s a guide to making that trifecta a reality through the ultimate picnic.

  1. Location. Picnics aren’t very fun if your view is a brick wall or an industrial park. Seek out a local park, a river view, a boat, or even a nice patch of grass in your back yard.
  2. Supplies. Be sure to have cutlery, bottle openers, a blanket, bug spray etc. when you head out. You might feel a little overwhelmed carrying all of these tools with you, but it beats feeling a troop of ants crawling up your pant leg.
  3. Food. Not only do we love good food with our beer, we love beer food. Believe it or not, there’s a way to get beer into just about any food you eat. Serve up a salad with beer dressing. Then, try out these pork sliders on some beer bread. You can finish up with a chocolate maple porter pudding. Yes, we have achieved your dream…creating an entire diet of beer.
  4. Drink. Yes, we saved the best for last. A good beer is the perfect finishing touch on a meal. We recently released our Late-Spring and Summer beers, which are an obvious choice for a seasonal beverage. Otherwise, take a look at our food and beer pairings blog for some ideas on which beers specifically complement which foods.
